Summer time is team time

teamwork

It’s nice to feel a bit of camaraderie during international sporting occasions and other such events. The past few weeks have been awash with opportunities to bathe in camaraderie (water/rain references deliberate).  The Queen’s second 90th birthday made us all feel patriotic, if a little damp; the Euros have led to lots of inter-office discussion on the merits, or otherwise, of various players, coaches and hairstyles. Lots of people have come out as Welsh in the office – really? Or is it the sweet smell of success that’s luring them to unearth their long latent Welsh ancestry?

The summertime feeling of getting out and about from time to time – whether to the cricket, tennis, music festivals or other summer events – makes things feel just a little bit nicer than usual. And then there are the summer holidays to look forward to.

This year more than ever, when there has been one large dividing factor in the nation, it’s important to feel that we are all part of something good.

Soon, Team Citigate Dewe Rogerson will take part in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge – a 5k-ish run around Battersea Park – and this is a great opportunity for some cross-team and cross-pod camaraderie. We’ll all be doing our best, striving to achieve our goals, and hopefully crossing the finishing line feeling a sense of achievement and a strong measure of team spirit.

Getting involved is so much a part of life; standing by the side-lines is simply letting life go by.

PR and communications are great career choices for people who like to take an interest, to understand how clients’ businesses work from the bottom up, to get involved and feel part of a team.  Give your opinion, listen to others, communicate and share your enthusiasm. If this sounds like you, carry on! You’ve made the right career choice.

Oh, and go Team CDR!
